About Ppyeotanjip

If you’re wandering through the heart of Seoul and craving a true Korean barbecue experience, Ppyeotanjip is the spot to check out. Nestled at 13 Jahamun-ro 1-gil in the bustling Jongno District, this restaurant brings together the lively energy of a classic Korean barbecue joint with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The moment you step inside, you can feel the vibrant vibe-smoky grills, sizzling meat, and the chatter of friends enjoying a late-night feast make it impossible not to get excited about what’s on the menu.

Ppyeotanjip focuses entirely on dine-in service, which means every meal is crafted and served fresh right at your table. There’s no delivery or takeout here, and honestly, that’s part of the charm-it encourages guests to slow down, relax, and enjoy the full experience of grilling your own meat while sipping on a cold drink. Speaking of drinks, the bar here is stocked with a solid selection of alcohol and beer, perfect for pairing with the rich flavors of Korean barbecue. Whether you’re after a chilled lager to wash down your spicy marinated ribs or a stronger drink to match the intensity of grilled pork belly, Ppyeotanjip has you covered.

One of the things that really makes this place stand out is its late-night appeal. The restaurant stays lively even when the city winds down, offering a warm, social environment for night owls looking to satisfy their cravings. The menu is designed to keep things simple yet delicious, with all the classic Korean barbecue staples cooked right at your table. The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to give tips on cooking times or recommend the best drink to complement your food.

Another highlight is the ambiance-it’s casual without feeling chaotic, and it strikes that perfect balance between lively and comfortable. Groups of friends, coworkers, or even solo diners can enjoy the interactive grilling experience, making it a versatile spot for almost any occasion. The smells, the sights of sizzling meat, and the clinking of glasses all come together to create a memorable night out in Jongno.

We ordered 2 sets of pork belly and the stewed beef. This was just enough for 2 people, so if you order their default set menu, it will be more than enough. Nice bbq, a helper will do it for you. They have great recommendation for pairings, my favourite was the pork belly + pickles + wasabi, strangely gave it a kind of spicy buttery kick. Great place to go and rest after walking around in a hanbok

We were a group of seven—three kids and four adults. We ordered two set menus (the first one), two bowls of rice, and two cold noodles. It was perfect for us, and all for just $100. No tipping here in Korea.

Great place where they grill the meat for you! They serve plenty of side dishes, too. The Bone-in Pork Belly has a 3-serving minimum, but that portion was perfect for the two of us. I especially loved the seasoned lettuce. It was a fine meal for a chilly day! (Note: The pork belly is quite fatty, as expected.)

Went to this location randomly while looking for a place to eat near the station. The food was excellent - and not just the meat, but also all the side dishes were very delicious. The service was great, explaining all the different ways you can enjoy the pork. I also want to mention that the atmosphere is perfect for couples and families, unlike some other bbq places where there’s a lot of workers in groups. Would definitely visit again next time in Korea

It's delicious because it has a lot of meat juice and tastes like fire. The staff grilled it all, so we can talk and eat it. Excellent!
